ari, preview ...

annat had her baby (i.e. my first maternity shoot) about three months ago, went back to shoot little ari. here's a teaser, will be processing this weekend after travels.

noise or no noise ...

while out in chicago this past weekend, shot andrew and michelle's engagement. two shots from it, cropped, processed in b&w, up'd contrast, darkened, vignetted. added noise to second picture, i love both shots, i cannot decide which one i like better, with or without the noise added. each has its own quality.

had to go to nyc this week, have to process some hdr images, but here are two non-hdr's that i liked. second shot was in complete darkness at high iso's.

spooky spooky fall is coming, as is halloween and it's spooktacular evil possibilities.

- created new layer
- de-saturate to b&w photo
- boost brightness and contrast to deepen blacks & shadows
- rendered lens flare at 150%
- flattened

i actually have a few thoughts for this week's what's your play, but this was the first that came to mind. just a simple de-saturation and then a hue layer mask to remove the b&w and bring up the pink in the shoes, very slight bit of blur to mute out a bit of stroller too. and of course i cropped it a bit.
